I know we hear this term often, and more than likely we are right in our imagery conclusions. Fornication, as noted in Matthew 19, put away wife...except for f; comes from the greek word meaning to "play the harlot", or to present oneself as a single person, unsettled. Fornication does differ from the original greek word: adultery, in that fornication includes the many acts of: incest, ecetera, and includes adultery. A comparison can be drawn from the text in Hebrews, "Marriage (Gk,, namely nuptials) is honorable in all..... but whoremongers (same as fornicator-to play the harlot, or present as single), and adulterers (Gk, namely "an illicit lover, unauthorized lover), God can judge.
