Scriptural Concordance Blogs

"Without vision the people perish." Perish in this old testament verse means to break apart, to be scattered, destroyed, without cohesiveness, without a shephard, untamed. That original translation lets us know even before we disclose the original text for vision--that without it, ('vision'), whatever it is thus far, the people will ultimately become desolate, die out, come to naught.

So vision then is translated: a mental image, sight, a view, to look upon; without vision, the people perish. So seeing ourselves keeps us together, unified, strong, in tact, peaceful.. Vision gives us direction. Vision gives us purpose. When we have purpose and are working on some-thing, we are happier, our rest is peacful.

Furthermore, hope is an anchor for the soul, when we are constantly moving toward a goal, we feel confident, strong and empowered.
