James 4:7 "resist Satan and he will flee from you"
Matthew 4:1-11, speaking of Jesus, ..."Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him, (or comforted him)."
I Peter 5:9 "knowing this that your adversary the devil, walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, who resist steadfast in the faith,"

You know God never really ask his children to full out Fight with the enemy Satan. Sometimes the situation calls that we need only make an effort, that we at least try, and I have found that God almost takes over the rest, without me having to do much fighting at all.
Some men may say, well I just had to hit this woman because she was punching me; yet as strong (er) as a man is, just a little resistance, has the power (would) stop a woman fighter in her tracks. There is just no match or competition.
God's gentle admonition is to resist, or simply, stand opposite the enemy. The opposite stance to our enemy is not our savvy, secular wisdom, black majic, or even Karma practices with the like; "fooloshly", it is God's Word. You almost have to be a true dummy to successfully battle Satan. The "smarter" we are the easier it is to bewitch us.
Satan twist Scripture.
In Scriptures, I recollect 2 relateable conversations. One with Eve, in the Garden, and the other with Jesus in Matthew 4 following a 40 days fast that Jesus underwent. To repeat, Satan twist Scripture; that was his tactic with Eve and Jesus. All the Christian must do, with even faith as small as a mustard seed, is uphold God's Word. I have mentioned before that I always share with my kids that Satan is Not afraid of us, yet when we qoute Scriptures, he has got to go!
Do you remember in the Field of Dreams, the angels rhetoriced to Wizard of oz, saying "I'm melting, I'm melting". That is the way Satan handles God's Word. He Can't handle it, and he moves on to seek someone else to devour.
