authored for Bro Emmanuel Whites Lesson, Why Christians Sin? 01/26/2022
We sin because we want more and more
the Scriptures call this lust
we want what we can't have,
its a must!
God told us to go left, we go right
we kick the pricks, His Word is in hindsight
That longing we feel, its oh so real
we taste, we smell, we crave, with Satan we make a deal
We are drawn away and then enticed
we opened the door knowing it wasn't right
We have not because we ask not
God wants the best for us
His will is all we need
we want more, that's greed
Adam and Eve had all a couple could have asked for
Eve was caught up, again Satan convinced her there was more
So we hustle and bustle and strive in life
we are drawn away & distracted into the night
Our desires dont come fast enough
we're impatient, our bellies bust
So we fall,
and its all because of discontentment and distrust
We hear that, "God has abandoned us,"
Yet the only strange calling is our lust
Satan's Strategy For Destruction Part II Ephesians 4:19-20. On the previous lessons, Bro White addressed "how" Satan decieves us or that process of our enemies' deception. Bro White further discussed the realities of Satan in our lives, and these Spiritual Thoughts for our Spiritual Walk thoroughly discusses why we sin, with the main question, "Why Do Christians Sin?" The crux of the reason why we sin, is lust, or by Greek definition, 'to want more', Ja 1:13-25. No person is intrinsically 'bad', yet anyone can be influenced by Satan, and then used for his purposes. Bro White could have easily turned this small lesson into a course, as many Christians may not know "why" they sin, and it is a substantial subject that can be taught. When we give in to sin, destruction begins. Questions that I should ponder before engaging any act should consist of some of these: 1. what are my actions going to lead to (remember sin is a process, and we are 'led' away) 2. who will benefit from my actions, God or Satan 3. are my actions supported Scripturally 4. Am I being influenced to partake by worldly people or spritual people 5. will my actions ultimately cause someone to be hurt (for ultimately, God is Love, and Love does no harm to its neighbor) The golden rule teaches me to Love God with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to Love my neighbor as myself. Bro White closes the message by reminding us of process: Godly desires lead to godly actions lead to godly results.
